Africa Fashion Week Middle East (AFWME) hosted a compelling and thought-provoking panel discussion on Tuesday, May 7th, at The Edit, Dubai: Industry Real Talk 2.0. The event, held in the inviting ambiance of The Edit’s concept store, provided an intimate setting for esteemed panelists and guests to engage in stimulating conversation and exchange ideas. Moderated by Mucha Hazel Nyandoro, CEO of Manelith and Chief of Professional Tribes, a prominent supporter of AFWME, the panel tackled the theme of “Innovating at the Intersection: Shaping the Future of Creativity in Africa and the Middle East.”
The panel discussion covered a range of crucial topics that are reshaping the creative landscape of the region. One of the key points addressed was “Trendsetting in Transcultural Creativity,” where panelists explored how the design industry blends local traditions with global influences in its projects. They also discussed the role of clothing brands in integrating cultural identities into modern fashion and how the sustainability sector incorporates local and global perspectives to innovate in sustainable practices.
Another pivotal topic was “The Digital Renaissance: Democratizing Creativity,” which examined the technological advancements crucial in democratizing creativity. Panelists, including tech experts, designers, brand experts, sustainability activists, and media personalities, discussed how digital media is transforming the landscape of traditional media in engaging with diverse cultures.
